Sesame Oil
[ ]
(Pronounce in Mandarin Pinyin: Zhi Ma You / Xiang You)
Sesame Oil is derived from sesames, noted to have the distinctive aroma and taste of its parent seed. It is often used as a flavoring oil rather than a cooking oil in Chinese dishes. It has a strong sesame quality, so only a small amount is enough to add a delicious nutty taste.. Asian sesame oil derives its dark colour and flavour from toasted hulled sesame seeds.
