Eat The Right Medicinal Food

As mentioned, food and herbal medicine are from the same origin and can be classified under nature and flavour of food. Each food or medicine that you are eat has different benefits to your body. So, knowing your body type helps you choose foods to maintain good balance.

Yin()
Neutral()
Yang()
Cold()
Cool()
Warm()
Hot()
Remark: Food that are in neutral are good for everyone and they promote clear thinking.

a) Cold Body Type
People with cold body constitution are encourage to take Yang and neutral food. Yang Food refers to food that are in warm or hot natures, which helps relieving the cold and strengthen the Yang.

Commonly used Chinese herbal medicine to treat cold body constitution are:
* Eucommia Bark - (Du Zhong)
* Cordyceps - (Dong Chong Xia Cao)
* Velvet of deer antler - (Lu Rong)
* Morinda root - (Ba Ji Tian)

Should eat regularly: lychee(), angelica root(), ginger(), longan(), onion(), almond(), peanut(), chive(), chili(), chicken(), lamb(), prawn(), etc.


b) Hot & Dry Hot Body Type
People with Hot & Dry Hot body constitution are encourage to take Yin and neutral foods. Yin foods are in cold and cool properties that helps to relieve the heat and nourishing the Yang.

Commonly used Chinese herbal medicine to treat hot & dry hot body constitution are:
* Dried Liles - (Bai He)
* Solomon's Seal - (Yu Zhu)
* Glehnia Root - (Sha Shen)
* Privet Berry - (Nu Zhen Zi)
* Ophiopogonis Root - (Mai Men Dong)

Should eat regularly: Mung bean(), bean curd(), kelp(), watermelon(), bitter gourd(), wintermelon(), mango(), pear(), chrysanthemum tea(), white fungus(), strawberry(), pork(), lamb(), duck()etc.


c) Weak Body Type
Weak body type can be classified into 4 groups, which are yin deficiency(YinXu - ), yang deficiency(YangXu -) , qi deficiency (QiXu - ) and blood deficiency(XueXu-) .

Yin deficiency

Dried lilies(), solomon's seal(), privet berry(), black sesame(), ophiopogonis root(). Pear(), coconut(), sesame(), black bean(), white fungus(), cold nature veggies(), pork() and dairy milk() etc,
Yang deficiency

cordyceps(), velvet of deer antler(), morinda root(), black cardamon() lamb(), prawn(), quail egg() etc.
Qi deficiency

d) Solid Body Type

People with solid body constitution are encourage to take Yin (cold or cool properties) and neutral foods. Recommended to avoid heat excess food

Commonly used Chinese herbal medicine to treat hot & dry hot body constitution are:
* Honey Suckle Flower - (Jin Yin Hua)
* Chrysanthemum Flower - (Ju Hua)
* Figwort root - (Xuan Shen)
* Rhubard root - (Da Huang)
* Mulberry Bark- (Sang Bai Pi)

Should eat regularly: garlic (), kelp(), red bean(), cucumber(), foods that improve bowel movement, etc.
