Here are a selection of recipes for treating common
cold. In traditional Chinese medicine, common cold can
be divided into two types, hot-wind and cold-wind, which
should be treated with different medicinal foods.
a) Hot-wind type symptoms( ):
Manifestations are high fever, no chilliness, slight
sweating, red eyes, sore throat, headache, slightly
yellow coated tongue and rapid pulse.
b) Cold-wind type symptoms( ):
Manifestations are fever, chillness without perspiration,
headache, pains over whole body, stuffy nose, runny
nose, white coated tongue, midly quick pulse.

Rinse and peel lotus root then blend
to juice. |

and 1/2 cup of warm water before serving. |

Lotus roots are good for treating sore throat

whereas ginger juice helps to sweat and expels
coldness. It is commonly used for treating

Cleaned and sliced ginger, then put
into a bowl. Add boiling water and cover
for 5-10 minutes. |

while hot, then cover up well, sleep
and start to sweat. |
